Suncoast Caravan Features
Extended Caravan Drawbar for Easier Reversing
Extended drawbars. Once again, it’s the little things that are sometimes unseen…but they’re there, hiding in plain sight. All of our chassis are made in Australia by FP Chassis and are extended by 450mm. Why? There are a couple of reasons Kaz and I have this feature on every van we sell here at Sunvan Caravan Sales. Firstly, a van with an extended chassis will always be easier to reverse. This reason is also related to the second and that being the tow vehicle itself as when you are performing a tight turn, (particularly if you are towing with a cab/chassis vehicle that has a tray) then there is less chance that the back of the vehicle will come into contact with the drawbar accessories such as your gas bottles, storage box or jockey wheel.
Wall mounted gas bayonet
Why do we have wall mounted gas bayonet fittings? Once again, it’s the little things that are sometimes unseen…but they’re there, hiding in plain sight. The wall mounted gas bayonet fitting prevents you, ladies & gentleman, from having to search for it. No more will you have to fiddle around looking for that gas point which is typically mounted under the floor of your caravan and is never where you found it last time. You might remember it well. You were kneeling down on one knee not only looking for the thing but you were also wondering at how you were going to get back up after you’ve inserted the BBQ hose when you do find it. Ours are all found under the black flap conveniently located on the wall of your Suncoast Caravan at chest height right where you want it, near the BBQ! All Suncoast Caravans that we sell here at Sunvan Caravan Sales have this feature fitted as standard. Why would you do anything else really. If you know, you know.
Stronger gas struts for the bed
Once again, it’s the little things that are sometimes unseen…but they’re there, hiding in plain sight. This time, I’m talking about the bed struts. Why? How many times have you lifted up the (supposedly) Queen size bed in your van and it either goes down on you whilst you’re bending over or you find yourself supporting the base with your back while looking for whatever it is that you know is somewhere under that bed? All Suncoast Caravans that we sell here at Sunvan Caravan Sales have higher Newton metre rated gas struts as a standard feature. These ensure that the bed will stay up even with the weight of your linen and blanket.
12V compressor fridges
12V Compressor fridges and what makes our installation of them that bit different.
Once again, it’s the little things that are sometimes unseen…but they’re there, hiding in plain sight. 3 way fridges? Not for us. All Suncoast Caravans sold here at Sunvan Caravan Sales have 12V compressor fridges installed as “standard fit” that range in litreage from 130 in the smaller compact vans right up to 224 in the larger ones. Why? Well, don’t get me wrong here, there is a place for 3 way fridges in a caravan but you have to consider that a 12V compressor fridge will cool down a lot quicker and provide a more even temperature throughout the entire fridge. Hotter, more humid climates like you’ll experience in the top end of the NT, Qld and WA show NO LOVE for a three way fridge. 12V compressor fridges are maintenance free, are extremely efficient in off-grid camping and do not need to be level to work. We fit an external fully weatherproofed filtered air vent at the bottom of the fridge cavity. We also fit a wall mounted external hatch at the top of that same cavity so that the compressor and all electrics can be easily accessed without the need to remove the fridge for service. On that external access hatch we fit a 12V powered fan and filter assembly that is connected to a 50° over temperature thermostat. This ensures that the compressor is properly ventilated while maintaining the dust free status of your Suncoast Caravan in some of the hottest areas of Australia. If you have any questions you know where to find us!Daz ‘n Kaz, love ya see ya bye.
