Kaz and I became involved with the builders of Suncoast Caravans whilst living in the Northern Territory’s top end. We owned NT Appliance Spares & Repairs at Winnellie and had a side business hiring out caravans. These were made down in Somerton, Victoria and then trucked up to us in Darwin.
After returning to Queensland, we decided to set up a small caravan dealership at Kunda Park on the Sunshine Coast selling Suncoast Caravans exclusively. It’s very easy to speak confidently about a product that you believe in, know a lot about, have used personally, have hired out to others, figured out what works in them design wise and what doesn’t including all the free camp features that are absolutely necessary to help you stay in some of the sweetest spots for days on end you’ll always find somewhere all over Australia.

We knew when ordering our caravans that not just any van would do. They had to be well appointed, have the ability to hold enough water for a 5 day hire, plenty of solar and lithium battery capacity, a comfy pillow topped mattress and more importantly, they absolutely had to have the most desirable trait of any caravan that you were going to hire out in Australia’s most remote countryside: the ability to hold together and come back in one piece, time after time, in the hands of multiple users. While they always came back covered in some of the richest red dirt that the NT seems to have an abundance of, they never ever came back broken. We thought that this was a great testament to the way they were built.

We are people that love to free camp, light a fire, turn up the music, enjoy a few coldies and have a fair idea of what works, what doesn’t and what’s missing in/on most caravan builds. We have owned many new caravans and spent a lot of time caravanning around Australia.
